looking for a little info on a repair problem.
a little backround info first. i do most of my purchasing at a local "mom and pop" music shop was shopping for a new mim tele and loved a limited edition ash tele at gc.
i understand the game there and dont want to get into gc bashing. i dont have a lot of knowledge on setups but can do enough to get by.
the low e sting had a buzz on it i thought i could tweek out even with my skills.
long story short went back to my local shop with guitar to buy a blues jr.got to talking about my setup problems there teck seems to think the spacing on the nut is cut wrong.
they are going above and beyond to solve problem.
just looking for some insight is this common does it sound right etc. etc.
and before you start ya i know should have bought at my shop but fell in love with this model we live and learn.
any insight would be great. thanks

First off, I'm surprised that you didn't pick up on the buzzing while trying the guitar at the GC you went to. I recently played one of those limited edition ash body Teles and I didn't notice any buzzing, so it could be a nut issue, maybe just needs a little filing. I would hope that they would do this for you no charge, if not, I'd complain to the store manager and if he was no help, go further up the chain of command. Good luck!

SPW - I agree with MiamiMike. Go back to GC and see if they will rectify the issue. I say that assuming that they have a tech on staff & they know what they are doing.

FYI: I got the same FSR that you have a few days ago and the strings buzz slightly. It is only because I have the action set so low. No big deal as it doesn't come through the amp anyway.

Make sure all your screws in the bridge are tight. That might be the problem.

hey guys thanks for your input here is an update.
was at local "mom and pop" store buying a blues jr when we got to talking about my problem. they went above and beyond the call of duty to help me out.
long story short they recut the nut made a neck adjustment and did a complete setup problem solved.
i know the proper thing to do was go back to gc and put up a stink dont want to get into the gc bashing game here but was very happy to pay a little cash for prompt personel service at my local shop.
we live and learn they now will be getting all my future sales.
