From all that I have read, Foto Flame is a type of photographic film with the pattern on it, which is applied to the components of the guitar.

That is why every one of the photo flames can look identical. The only variation I have seen is that the "hambugler" logo appears in different places on the necks, presumably because they apply the film in difference places.

Sorry to dig up an old thread. I'm new to the forum. I have a foto-flame deluxe tele that I bought new in the mid '90s. I was new to electric guitars when I got it. Does anyone happen to know what frets and fretboard radius the MIJ foto-flame deluxe teles have? I am shopping for a new tele, and would like to know for a frame of reference when comparing my guitar to new teles.

Thanks

Just joined the forum. I have a 1985/86 MIJ telecaster with a tobacco foto flame finish. It has the chunky maple neck and maple fretboard with the skunk stripe on back, black pick guard, and the barrel saddles. I think its a '52 re-issue. Nice playing guitar, I use it all the time but I'm wondering if anyone has any idea what it's worth? I think its quite rare as I have never seen another one like it.

I have an odd tele . It has a MIJ foto flame neck but I haven't seen a foto body quite like this one. It had 3 p/ups a beautiful Birdseye cherry burst top and a solid red back with a belly cut out. It is the best player I have. Can anyone give me a clue of what I have? And how to post a pic?
I am new.

Pic posting on the forum is a bit tricky, but pics usually bring better answers than outside links. So here's how:
Quote:
First you need to upload your pics to the internet. Use a pic hosting site (imgur, imgbb or such - avoid photobucket) or some common web framework like e.g. facebook, googlephotos - whatever you're familiar with.
The important thing is that the web site provides you with a pic address - that's the one starting with 'http' or 'https' and ending in '.jpg'.

Copy the pic address, and use the IMG-command (visible when you write a message) on the forum.

Preview your post so everything is OK.
