A few months ago I started getting the parts togther to have an Andy Summers inspired Telecaster built. Well it's finally finished. Though it is not identical to the AS Tele, it is pretty close. It looks beautiful and sounds great. The maple neck is a pretty think "V". It very much reminds me of the Teles from the 50's. The 3-color-sunburst with white binding gives this guitar great visual character.

The pickups (1 humbucker in the neck and 1 single coil in the bridge) have been wired for a 5 way switch. The possions are as follows from the neck to the bridge:
1. HB
2. HB coil tapped to be a SC
3. HB and Bridge
4. SC and Bridge
5. Bridge

The tone knob I'm using has been set up as follows:
turn the knob counter clockwise and you get only mid-range sounds --- Turn it clockwise and it is a normal tone knob. It reminds me of the mid-range boost (without raising the volume) on my EC Strat.

I went with 6 chrome covered brass saddles and back plate, bone nut and vintage tuning keys. The neck redious is vintage as well.

The guitar is very versitile. I can play a wide range of music. Everything from jazz to country. I play a lot of blues, stuff by Clapton and the Police.

The bottom line is that this guitar is great. I can't seem to put it down. After parts and labor it cost me less then $1100. To have the custom shop do the same work would be over $3K. The actual AS Tele is $10K.
