First of all, ... are these one in the same? I have a '52 reissue that I'm trying to get back to stock. In my genius ... I changed stuff in the electronics a few years ago and am now wanting, needing to get it back to stock. I have downloaded the parts list and schematics for the '52 AVTele from fender.com, but see a difference in the rating on a capacitor. AVTele says Capacitor, .05uf, where as the schematic that came with my '52 reissue tele says .06uf. What is the deal here? Can I comfortably order that .05uf capacitor and know it will be how the original 52 tele was wired or not? Please advise everyone. And thanks. -Michael-[/u]

From my experience the '52 reissue is wired exactly as was the original '52.

My opinion is that the AV capacitor will not give you the proper '52 tone that makes that guitar the icon than it is.

I own two '52 reissues and have owned no other electric guitars for a number of years. Good luck!!!!

Yes, the 52 AV is wired with the original 52 circuitry as well as the vintage pups. The switch is wired with the positions: down toward the pot knob is the bridge pup, middle is the neck pup (alone), and up toward the headstock is the dark (or fat) circuit for the neck pup (alone with no tone control) - so there is no position that switches both pups in with the original circuitry.

Ah yes I forgot to mention I do have coil tapping now in my customized Fender Black Telecaster. The great thing is Telecasters have such a great tone and appealing shape. How could anyone not like it? I'll post photos later today of the black Telecaster. You can see photos of the blue Telecaster here if you like:
