The holy grail (?) of the mostly poor GC Labor Day Sale was the Highway One Tele in 3 Tone Sunburst with Fender Gig Bag for $389.

I went to 6 GCs before I found it. A little shop worn but such a deal!

Sweet guitar too. The Tele sat there 2 days before I picked it up today. The guys in the story did not realize how low this price was!

Can't believe it took 2 days to sell. Most stores who had the tele were out in the first 30 minutes. Many GCs did not even have them and I don't think any store that had them in stock had more than 2, most only had 1.

SCORE! GC rules today in my book.

WOW! That is a great score. Congrats to you. I'm guessing that my Guitar Center didn't have any of those deals, I'm sure I wouldn't have missed that.

Enjoy your new twang machine.

Way to go getting a MIA Highway 1 for the price that I paid earlier in the year for a MIM standard tele with the sunburst. $389. with a gig bag. Hmmm...I wonder if your guitar was mistaken for one of those.

You truly scored because, (see link below) what you have is a $900.00 dollar guitar!!! Coooooooooool!!!!

mine is not the Texas Tele but the regular Highway one with Alnico III pickups. Street price is 699 so 389 still pretty nice savings!

great guitar too. been playing it all day.

Great find, I got one too!!! Went there looking for something else saw it on the list and the employees thought it was a mistake, but no!

It's way too much guitar for me but what the heck, I coulda paid almost $389 for a Squier, and in fact saved $60 over a MIM Std Tele!

Yes this was one of the few great deals at Guitar Center's Labor Day sale. It bascially sucked overall.

Congrats on joining the Highway One Tele club. I joined yesterday.

That is so sweet! I like the look of the Highway 1 instruments, too. You got a U.S. model for a south of the border price. :)

While I've never been a fan of the H1 concept, I got one of those GC Labor Day deals -- brand new, unboxed the night before, not a fingerprint on it. Figured I could flip it at a profit if I didn't like it. Guy I know bought TWO (2) at the price.

While it's still an H1 and HEAVY (a little under nine pounds), it's sort of growing on me. :?

Does anyone know which pickups are in these current H1s (by number, if possible) and if they're in any other Telecasters?

Thanks for any hard info!

Never mind. I heard back from Fender.

They're a 72997/72998 set, exclusive to this model.
