Any hints, tip, or advice for the installation of Sperzel locking 6 in line tuners on my MIM Tele?

Thanks

The install is a bit tricky, but can be done if you have some experience with hand tools, as a locating pin hole must be drilled in the back of the headstock to anchor the tuner since there are no screws, only the screw in bushing.

As above..

Don't be put off though as Sperzels are ultra stable. When cutting the locating pin hole in your headstock, use a drill with a bit of tape wrapped around it as a depth marker. You don't want to drill right through the headstock!

Thanks you guys.

I did some on-line research also and when I felt confident that I knew
what the process was I got started. I used a metric ruler, pencil, drill bit, electric hand drill, and some needle nose pliers.

Took my time measuring and marking for the holes. Then drilled.
I did use the tape tip on my drill bit--a great idea so as not to drill to far. It went smoothly...not to nerve racking but making sure that I was precise.

After doing the installation myself I believe that anyone could do this if they
are careful and precise.

I absolutely love the new Sperzel tuning machines. My guitar has a new improved sound. And installing new strings is Super Easy now. I should have got these tuners seven months ago when my guitar teacher first advised us to get them.

Thanks again for you advice and tips I appreciate it a lot.

Not registered with Facebook, but sure sounds like you did a great job.

As with many of these projects, it's all about knowing what you want to do and doing the appropriate homework first. Then working calmly and methodically to get it done.

I'm sure this will give you confidence to do the next job - good luck in advance!
