Was wondering if anyone could help I.D. a Tele I picked recently that has me flummoxed. I could try to explain it, but would rather just post a pic. Uh...how do you add a pic to the post? Thanks in advance.

you gotta upload to a host like PhotoBucket and then copy in a direct link using the Img button.

 YOU HAVE ONE OF THE RAREST MEXI TELES IN THE HISTORY OF THE FACTORY!

this model was an idea for an electric tele thinline, but with acoustic qualities. that was the result. I believe only one prototype was made.

what an incredible specimen... I must ask where you got it?

Intuition told me it was rare when I saw it. I can't find anything about it on my usual searches. I did send an email to Fender to ask about it, but haven't received a reply as yet.
I found it at a local pawn shop for next to nothing...

The truss rod is in the neck ;) and the adjustment screw is at the base of the neck.
What do you mean by "why is the decal off"? Do you mean misaligned or simply missing? What decal, specifically?

Hey Frantic, lets not jump the gun. Loads of guitars have the truss rod adjusted at the bottom. Have you never seen this?!?!?!?

The guitar looks real to me and looks like something I would LOVE to own.

What an amazing Telecaster!!!

I plan on disassembling soon to check such things. Does anyone know, if it is indeed a prototype, if Fender dated neck pockets and such on their prototypes?

i know some have the rod on the bottom but only older tele/strats or reissue
but if its a proto why does it have a SN like a normal tele?
if anything think the neck might be real and the body is a copy..

but i hope its real :D sux when people get ripped off but in this case
since you didnt pay that much for it, its a win win
