Ever thinking about selling either neck, I am an interested buyer. The Esquire logo neck is cherry! Love your Springsteen-mod set-up also BigKahune.

I just got back from the my music shop. Need to share this. I got my strat pickguard replaced and a new tone knob after it went through a mishap with my bass player last week. (A few posts back on nthis thread.)

The shop got a bunch of guitars in yesterday and 2 were teles. Well after seeing BigKahune's Springsteen project here, it kinda got me razzed for a tele but I wasnt sure if I could get enough tonal variances with one. They unpacked a "Tex-Mex" tele while I was picking up my strat and it had a tex-mex pup for the middle pickup. I was jacked when they pulled it out of the box, since it has a middle pup like my strat. That was me right there.

I plugged her in the sound room and she played like a dream. 4th position middle and neck sound great with a mid-punchy bite. Very nice. Bridge is a classic tele sound ---never played a tele before but I like it a lot.

They wanted to sell it so I got it for $700 out the door and they threw in a hardshell case for it!! I would of bought it anyway. Early Xmas present for me! Sunburst brown with a tourtise pickguard and mahogony fretboard. It's beautiful. Gonna gig it tonight on stage. I'll let you know how she plays live.

Dudes - My sig decal came in. Check it out below.

A very big thanks to bossoholic for the website address. I love this addition to my mock up of Bruce's Esquire c.1975 BTR. A very nice size. As you can see, it fits nicely on the back of my headstock.

BTW - I also got SRV and Hendrix sigs, trying to decide which one to put on my strat, maybe both.

BigKahune and All---

That Springsteen signature decal is great! Ihave to have that for my new tele. What a great idea. You guys are amazing on this stuff. It's like watching a movie unfolding. I love it!

Wanted to let you know how my Nashville Tele gigged over the weekend. In one word----Great! I have no complaints on buying this guitar. The middle Tex-Mex coil worked out greater than I could ever have hoped. It's a great addition to our sound. This guitar to me has wider tonal possibilities than my Strat did. I love it better because I have the tele sound I need for a lot of the songs we play. I have been wanting to add a song or two from Springsteen's "River" so we premiered "Cadillac Ranch" in our last set and did it ever come across great! Great crowd response from that one. We'll keep that one in our repetoire for awhile.

The guys in the band like the tele sound so she is a keeper guys. I am now a Tele convert. I'll use the strat as a backup now, and I hope I never have to NOT use this new tele. I love this guitar. The neck is very fast and I set the action nice and low and the frets are so smooth up and down the neck. I have it set-up so nice right now. In fact I have had the guitar in my hands more than I havent. I can't play it enough. I would recommend this guitar to anyone. That was the best guitar purchase I have ever made.

Gonna go play me some "Sweet Home Alabama" on my new Tele.

Hey Bigkahune--- Loving on your signature Bruce logo. You have such a classy tele there. I was wondering how those Re-issues play and sound. Boy--you sure picked a nice one there. Both those necks are great! I am looking to possibly get one of those re-issues, but they are never cheap. Class-act tele right there.

Spanish Johnny--- How does the neck and middle pickup sound on your nash? Kinda intrigued by those nashes.

I really like the 52 AVS. I left the wiring original - with the "dark vintage" neck pup switch setting. I really like that dark, mellow, bluesy, jazz kind of tone. The vintage bridge pup really barks out killer twang. I like the vintage frets, but I see some people have trouble with them - they're too used to jumbos. The spec says "U" shaped neck, but it's a shallow "U" and very easy to play. In a word, the 52 AVS is killer.

My "Springsteen modded neck is a real vintage "Fat U", you know, the kind most people compare to a baseball bat. It's a really deep "U", not wide. It's the only really deep neck in my collection, but I really like playing it. And just about everyone that tries it out, are suprised by how nice it feels to play a deep neck.

I really love my tex-mex pups on my Nashville tele. I have been giggging with it for about a month now. The bridge pup is very bright on its own but combined with the Tex pup--- produces a great fat twang tone. This thing is the most versatile guitar that I have ever owned. I used to play my strat as my #1 on stage, but I rarely play it now. I love the tone this thing puts out. We have added about 15 new songs to our roster thanks to this tele. I can't get enough of it.

I have 3 teles and I have the fat D or U as some people call them on my 83 American Standard. It's really worn in nicely now and I refretted that with the vintage frets as I prefer the smaller and faster-action frets. But yeah-- I love the fat neck. My 99 American Deluxe came with the jumbo fret and regular c shape neck style. I like it but I prefer the fat-necked 83. Just feels better. I love the vintage frets. I dont do a lot of bending so I dont really need the jumbo frets. I like the faster fingering on the vintage style myself.

I hope everyone had a safe and Merry Christmas.

I did. Wifey got me an absolutely killer (dare I say the "G" word?) Gibson SJ-200 Modern Classic. Very nice. :D

Spanish-Johnny -

Oh yeah, I can tell, you really love that Tele. Glad to hear worked out so well for you. :)

Tele63 -

Glad to see there are others that appreciate the "fat" vintage style. Most people that try mine like it, once they get past the "baseball bat" thing. 8)

"Happy New Year BigKahune and to all."

Just wanted to update everyone on my new Nash tele. I gigged her at a New Year's Eve gig here in New Stanton and she played off the wall! I gotta tell everyone about these Nashville teles. It hasnt let me down yet and I have been gigging her hard. Since I purchased this guitar 2 months ago, it has paid for itself from the gigging I have done. The band has learned over 20 new songs since I got it and the pups on this thing are incredible. I dont know if I am imagining things, but our audience seems to be growing every weekend. I can gig so many new songs with her and I have received a lot of praise from the crowd between sets. Looks like a great year ahead!
