Yeah that's what I said. These pics are incredible. I can't get over how sweet the blue in that pickguard comes out at you. I keep visiting this thread so I can get my Bruce tele fix. That pic with the bogner amp is the holy shrine of Teles. Man.

Hey Spanish Johnny-

Get a tele. You wouldn't have to worry about getting it to fit right. Just messin' with ya.

Spanish-Johnny -

I vote for moving to a Tele. Get one with S-1 switching to extend your tone options and versitility.

And visitors, don't forget -

I'll do some snooping around the shop Monday. I really like BigKahune's butterscotch version. I think I could get a good trade in. I know the luthier there pretty well. I will play with that S1 switch to see if it handles all the tones I require. That strat fits like a glove though. Gotta remember what forum I'm in here. -Heh.

Yeah------ I play on it every time I go over to visit. Let me tell you---it's killer! When it plays through that Bogner amp, with the bridge pickup on, the tele twang rings out like a shot in the night. Love that guitar. It looks so good in person. I have a hard time putting it down. I even had a Bruce mock photo shoot with it. And that tele sound? Incredible!Nothing sounds like a vintage tele. That guitar IS The Holy Grail of teles!!!

Tell you what-- those vintage re-issues have a tone all their own. Fender did an outstanding jod of replicating the electronics on that line. I believe they even duplicated the cloth wire-covering. For some reason those vintage pickups have a clearer and more powerful tone than other teles I have played. They are top notch. I may be in line for one of those down the road. Yours is out of the Park BigKahune.

I like returning to your thread to see what ideas you come up with next.

Hey guys---

Love your Springsteen mock-up guitar. I looked around at Hollywood music for teles. I took my strat there to get the cracked pickguard and broken tone knob replaced.

They didnt have any deluxe teles with the S1 switching in stock so I couldnt play one, but more are expected in. They had a run on them for the holidays and they are out of stock currently. They are going to call me when they get them in. I will keep you posted on this.

I think I can get a good trade in on my strat, but I think I may keep it. I'm not sure if I can give it up, so I may own both.

Thanks again guys.

Tele63 - no loan outs

MagicRat - glad you like the pics. Are you gonna start a BTR mod?

Spanish-Johnny - I hear you. I've got an AD Strat (S-S-S) and I love the extra tones available through the S-1. I haven't tried a Tele with the S-1, but I bet they're sweet. Keep us informed.

BTW, over at TDPRI there's a thread from a guy (nick = bossoholic) making a Springsteen mod to the condition Bruce's Esquire is in these days. Of course the identifying factor, for those in the know, is the wonderful aging of the finish with its road-wear and scaring - a much more difficult mod to achieve than mine. I think bossoholic's run at it is fantastic. Carefully researching and painstakingly matching the finish, wear and scaring, bossoholic's project is one of the best, if not the best mod to the current condition of Bruce's Esquire I've ever seen (and there's been a couple good ones posted). And bossoholic hasn't even finished yet. If you haven't seen it, check out this thread: My new Springsteen clone in progress (bossoholic).

Really nice job that Bossoholic has going there with the worn Boss guitar project. Curious to see how that job turns out.

Brilliant idea!
Your project rocks man.

You ever get another body for the neck you took off??

Celtic Cyclonus -

Thanks for the props.

On the body - no. But now that you mention it, I might try to find a body that more closely matches Springsteens Esquire, put the pickguad and Esquire neck on it, and then keep my 52 Tele together. Hmmm... Currently, I just swap necks now and then.
