Hi.

Can anyone measure for me DC resistance od MIM Standart Tele pickups? Especialy the newer ones after 2006. These seems to be very hot for a single coils for me.

I Found that guitar to be very very loud guitar. Bridge pickup is nearly as loud as JBJr I have in my strat in bridge. Of course it doesn't have so much mids but it is very loud and punchy pickup for a single coil.

Thanks.

The newer (2006) re-voiced, hotter Tele pickups in MIM standard Teles are designed to be more for the modern styles of music, rock (hotter).

MIM's only went to ceramic magnets a couple of years ago. Before that the Am Standard and Standard MIM tele pickups were identical. I have taken quite a few apart and they all meter in the mid 7.2--7.4K neck and 7.4--7.6k bridge range, same alnico V magnets, same coil wire, same plastic bobbin, same lack of base plate, same neck cover, etc. The MIM 50's & 60's are a little different from the MIM and Am Sandards, in that they have a DC resistance below 7K and waxed string wrap, and the 60's has staggered bridge magnets.

And those never ones?

Unfortunatelly my multimeter is broken I think.

2003 MIM standart strat ceramic pickups on that multimeter gives me 4,5kOhm and SD JBJr bridge about 11,5 so something is wrong.

Using that multimeter 2007 MIM Std Tele bridge and neck gives about 7kOhm but I think there is much more (10-12k).

Can anyone measure that for me?

I've always heard that MIM Standard strats and teles always used ceramic magnets.

Interesting. Cos I always thought the same.

Now I also heard another thing - in the late 90's there was a fire at the Mexico plant, and they had to use american parts for a little while, making it possible that the pickups used in MIM guitars being the same as the ones used in the MIA Standard. Can anyone confirm this?
