I wish I had more pic's of the project but here are a few, Notice the sunburst body in the background That was actually the first one I started on But this ones has passed er up

wow, nice plank there! You built body and neck yourself or bought somewhere?

The body was a basic ash blank with string holes and a two pickup route. It has a flame maple veneer applied, mid pickup route, and string ferrules done by me. The finish is a light walnut with a thin lacquer clear coat. The neck is from a buttercotch squier. I've been working the frets over. The string retainer will be replaced and relocated to the location on a 52 I'm waiting for it to arrive. I'm working over the shape too It's closer to a soft V now. I plan on attempting my own neck as I build up my luthier tools. Right now I only have fret tools The rest are regular woodworking tools. I started collecting parts and tools almost 2 years ago (same time I joined forum) I ended up with enough to build 2 and I'm still collecting. The sunburst body in one pic was the first one but the seller had removed the ferrules and really screwed up the back. I wish I would have looked at the pic's a little better. But I'm thinking about machining a solid brass saddle block to replace the ferrules. If not I have to plug the holes with 1/2" plugs and redrill. A Labor of Love

Idahored, I got tired just to read all the steps! A true labor of love - I wish I had your talent and wisdom. Please post more pics as the process evolves
