I'm sure this will be a very small club because there are still some of those 1998 Collectors Edition Teles out there brand new with the plastic pickguard film still in tact!

Mine is dinged up pretty good from gigging but no biggie!

The 1998 Collectors Edition has to be one of the great under rated Teles of all time. They some so frickin good and play just like a modern Tele but the vibe is pure 50's!

Who's got 'em?! Stand up and be counted!

Wow, there must be more unsold CE Teles out there than I thought! Either that or, people are just busy out there playing them!

No plastic on the guard but here is mine, surrounded by a couple of '97's...

Another proud 1998CE owner, from the Netherlands.

Bought it about 10 months ago and been playing on it every day since :D

I love the usability of all the 3 pickup settings, the warm round neck pickup with still a bit of twang, vs the snappy and biting high Tele
"Roy Buchanen - when a guitar plays the blues" - like bridge pickup.

However, I still don't know what kind of pickups are used. I've heard people say American Standard, Vintage Noiseless and even Custom-Shop. My bet would be the Vintage. Any ideas?

Greetings from Indiana, USA. I recently bought a "New" 1998 CE Telecaster. #926.......It has cracks in the finish. {only noticable when placed at a certain angle} Just wondering if this is common???? If anyone has any info on this condition, I would appreiciate your input...Thanks, Brent[/img]
Have you changed the pickguard, I have a 1998CE number 827 and the pickguard on it is just a plain white smooth pickguard :?:

I purchased my 1998CE in July of 1998 through Musicians Friend. I have 4 other guitars but have played them very little since getting this Tellie. I just love it. What more can I say. It's number is 827. Just found this forum so will post a picture later.

I haven't changed the pickguard, but it's possible that the previous owner did.

Nice to see a few more additions. I would have thought there'd be more people here but, oh well, it's still a great guitar!

One of the few guitars that causes GAS pains in me. Every time I see one of these or a 1966 SG, I want it.

VERY nice.
