I use my Telecaster for gospel, which includes blues, country, R&B, and jazz. The use for jazz is intriguing to me, as I find the Tele to have a very jazzy sound, especially with a 4-way switch that gives me both pickups in series.

I really couldn't vote for four choices so I left the jazz column unmarked. Here is the guitar that can do it all: Classic Player Baja Telecaster. It's my number 1 guitar.

When I play rock or fusion (smooth Jazz), I use my Strat Ultra.

MMike:

I like that Tele on your picture. Looks like a custom shop, with the colored headstock. Love the gold hardware. I see a B-bender, too. Now that is a country chicken picken machine!

I have used Teles for everything except Hip Hop (which I've never played on anything). But as a sub-poll:

AmStd Tele -- mostly country and country/rock, roots blues
Hwy 1 Tele -- deeper tone, more for "light" jazz and vintage (circa 1956 - 1964) rock
69 RI Tele - vintage rock, mostly, some roots blues
72 RI Tele - some blues, some "country leads" and so on

This is my Tele and I'm very happy everytime I play with it.

A forum member wrote a while back that owning a Telecaster is an acquired taste, I must say that it is true for me. :D

"Casual," when a "more elaborate" guitar feels like "too much." (How is that for being prissy and phony and fussy?)

Folk rock, world, country, occasioal jazz and less occasional lite blues.
