hey guys,

couple of months back i bought a tele MIM 09 in sunburst for £300 (really chuffed with the deal) and i love it. Cant get enough of the feel of a tele neck!

My only prob with it is the colour (yes i know its vain!) Im a real fan of the vintage cream colour and was wondering how it easy it would be to refinish the body? Anyone got any advice on the best way to do this? Am i better off stripping the body (seems a shame as its only a few months old and not a scratch on it) or should i buy a new body and sell the old one, if so where would i get one?

its just an idea, but wasnt sure if it was worth the hassle, so any advice will be warmly received!

Alex

You could check out ebay but if your luck is like mine you won't get half of what you pay for the new one. You might contact one of the stores on ebay that deal in fender bodies and work a trade. You can also pick up a unfinished body and do it yourself. There's many options but I'd check ebay for some ideas. If you decide to refinish yours I'd consider stripping it versus sanding to remove the paint. There has been previous posts here about that. You might even consider a squire standard and switch parts then sell or hotrod whats left. Good Luck.
