I've had quite a few guitars in my time, Strats, Les Pauls, etc and I love my Axis Supersport but I always come back to Tele's! There's just something so special about that slab of wood, no contours, no frills, just one mean, mean killer axe! Why?? :?:

Because Teles have some simple features that are hard to beat.

1. They stay in tune due to the hardtail bridge (better than Strats)
2. They stay in tune due o the excellent machine heads (better than all Gibsons)
3. They sound great and the string through body design gives excellent sustain.

That's it for me 8)

There's nothing in the world like getting and old '50s Tele, putting it in the bridge position and cranking it through an old Fender amp. Nothing beats that sound. Nothing. And don't get me started on the shape... so simpe yet so elegant. It really is THE guitar to have.

It's the original, the first, the granddaddy of all guitars! And they cut through that long line of strat and les paul owners. Dare to be different!
They're very simple, and easy to figure out, too. From a player's perspective, a good ole tele with scns or even regular pups is the king of all guitars. Want whammy action? Stick a Bigsby on it, they look great with them!! Just check my avatar and that's my personality right there. Tele's are just as classic as a Jeep, rugged and simple and they take lots of punishment. It's an American legacy that's hard to change because it's so perfect the way it is! I'm gonna shut up and play mine now!

Teles are like a model T ford, a whitney cotton gin, a bottle of fine kentucky bourbon, a windchester rifle, a colt 45, a tall glass of ice tea, a mint julep on the veranda in the evening, a fine piece of...........well, you all get the picture.

 I'm gonna go to the music store and mess around with some teles.

I have played and owned many guitars i.e. (Strats, Les Pauls, SGs, and ESs) but my american 52 reissue can out perform all of them and look great while doing it. Fender got it right the first time.

Teles are simple, relatively inexpensive and can just about sound great for any kind of music. With all of the Tele variations, what more do you want?

I'm looking to buy a new tele and it's been a while. Just wondering what tele players think is the best set-up as in: neck shape, which radius, med. frets? jumbo's? This is all new to me (kinda telling my age) what is your op.? thx

as far as the features on a guitar, it's all personal preference. the best way to figure out what you like is to go to your local tele dealer, and play around. make notes of what you like on what models then get on the fender website and find out what the specs are. ever guitarist is going to have a different opinion on what neck shape or size frets are the best. so find out wats comfortabe to you and go from there.

I just got myself an MIM Olympic White Telecaster. some kind of a 60's model if I'm not completely wrong.
If God was real I'd bet he'd play something like that
By the time I got it I almost forgot my Gibson SG :?
