I have a few questions.

1 What does the small chrome switch do?--when i toggle it the only time i can hear a change is when the 3 way selector is to the neck position. It seems to cut out the low frequencys almost completly. I'm thinking it does what the new Kerry King wah pedal does from dunlop. I am not sure tho.

2 does anybody have literature on these guitars and the tremolo system, s it a spyder II like the HM Strats. it seems different that my 89 HM Strat.

3 is that the original whammy bar, because my HM Strat has a black steel one that likes to rust when u dont use it lol and this one feels light enuf to be aluminium.

4what do u think, rare find?

I couldnt get the code to work cuz Im dumb lol here's the imageshack gallery

Your link doesn't work for me.

Check out this manual for MIJ HM guitars from '88:

http://www.21frets.com/manuals/HMandSta ... (Japan1988).pdf

The small chrome switch could be a coil splitting switch for the humbucker. See page 6 of the manual.

If that link doesn't work (it doesn't for me but that's the right URL), try this one and scroll down to "HM and Standard Series Guitars (Japan 1988)".

I've looked through all of Fender's manuals they have online. It's not in there, nor any site I've searched so far. I've sent an email to fender asking them to dig for anything on it.

The switch doesn't effect the humbucker I have, it effects the lace sensor in the neck position. I have a feeling it is a treble boost/low end reducer aka a wah switch.
