After months of looking for a new strat, I was in Samash intent on buying a used Jimmie Vaughan Strat when to my dismay it had already been sold. Never one to waste a trip, I started playing around with a '69 reissue Blue Flower Tele. I immediately fell in love and now I'm planning on getting the tele as opposed to another strat. Although I love my strat, im kinda partial to the neck and simplicity of the tele; not to mention that twangy bluesy tone. :D The only thing I really not exstatic about is the color but for the feel of that guitar, it will just have to grow on me.

+1

The blue paisley ones look cool in my opinion too. 8)

That's a good choice mate! But, as my predecessors have already noted, the Tele is an insidious guitar: you'll play them and then never play anything else again!

Are you kidding me! I started working in a Guitar Store two months ago - www.gtrstr.com, and I didn't like telecasters. Hated them, in fact. Five days ago, I bought one. I love the damn thing:

'69 reissue thinline upgraded with Joe Barden pickups.

One thing that will never change is my hatred for Rickenbackers. I just think they are so ugly!!! BLEH!!

Nice guitar and nice looking amp. Is that a vintage tweed ? Very nice combo.

I'm like you on the Teles. I played a Strat for 20+ years until I got my first Tele a few months ago and I can't put it down. Fantastic guitars .... simple, resonant, musical, responsive ....... I could go on

Hi Finterra - it's actually a Blues Junior: I run two LTD edition tweed blues juniors in stereo, sounds bloody amazing and always gets the soundman's attention! :) I'll post a pic of my setup tonight.

That's funny you should mention Sam Ash and the blue flower tele, I was in my local SA and they had both the blue flower & Pink Paisley Tele, I played the pink one and fell in love with it also. Fir crafted in china , it was a spectacular tele, quality, playability and even looks. AND it was on sale for 699.00. If I had the cash I would have bought it, it was that nice.
