Hello,

My question is when Fender uses the term "American Deluxe" in the sales description of a product, specifically a Telecaster, or allows a retailer to use the term on a product, is there a criteria of options that should come on the guitar. I'm talking everything from the bridge saddles to the decal on the headstock?

Thanks in advance,

Dan

If you go to the top left of the page click on products, telecaster guitars,
choose your model, click on specs, it's that easy.

Yes Peter I know that; but my question concerns a FSR for a retailer, which are never listed in the main product guide. That's why I am interested in finding if there is a let's say "minimun build specification" for a Fender product to let's say be classified as part of the 'American Deluxe" series.

I'll go a step further. Let's say I'm a fender authorized dealer. So I order X amount of regular Fender American Telecasters with an option of gold plated pickguard screws. When I get them in, I hang them on the wall with Fender American Deluxe in the title and also title them as such in my advertizing? Can't say they aren't if there is no "minimun build specification" because they have the Deluxe gold pickguard screws and they are American.

Thanks for your reply,

Dan

I didn't know that stuff about dealer ordered guitars.
Never experienced that over here in Holland (EU).
To me a ''Deluxe'' or a dealer ''Deluxe'' should have the same specs.
Maybe a special color, pickguard or engraved neckplate.
What i'm trying to say is that the specs that make a ''Deluxe'' should be
the same as an original Fender.
In the fender specs are the things listed that make them special.
Good luck clearing things up !

Peter
