I'm in the market for a telecaster and I'm trying to decide between the 52 re-issue and the Nocaster. Can anyone with hands/ears on experience provide a little comparison of the two. I've been leaning toward the Nocaster since (theoretically) sounds like it is an authentic reproduction of the Broadcaster which Mike Campbell has used and spoken rather highly of, not to mention I've always loved the sounds MC gets out of the Broadcaster. However, I'm wondering whether or not it is worth the much steeper price? What is the real difference between the two both sonically and from a playability standpoint?
Thanks!

Nocaster has a fatter neck and different pick ups. Also it has a nitro coat and not poly.

If you've got the $$$ get the Nocaster. An amazing guitar.

Play the two of them one after another and you'll see some huge differences.

The '52 reissue has a thick. plastic-y finish, the edges of the body are more rounded, the neck is smaller, etc...

It's much less authentic than the No-Caster.

On the other hand, I could never bring myself to buy a Relic guitar, unless the price was right and it sounded and played incredibly.

The '52 Reissue is a great guiar. Is the No-Caster worth the price difference?

Probably not, but that's up to the buyer to decide.

I've tried out quite a few '52 reissues and not found one of them with decent tone. Each time, I had the money, wanted a '52 reissue and ended up not buying one. A band mate has one and swears he likes it. But, I never see him play it! His Mexi 70's reissue gets all the work. I'm sure there are fabulous sounding ones out there, but you have to try them until you find it. Money being no object, I'd bet on the Nocaster.
