Ok guys... This has probably already been thrown around a bunch of times but here we go anyways... I currently have an '08 (or '09, bought it in April of this year) MIM Strat and I love it. I'm not good enough yet to justify spending the extra coin on the MIA's... With that said, I am looking to get a Tele soon. Are the MIM Tele's as good as the MIM Strats? Also should I be considering a Squire or are the MIM's much better? I don't mind spending the dough for the MIM... Thanks

Only one way to find out which one you should get. Have a close look at both, play both, actually play several examples of both, then get the one you feel is right for you. As with many things, you can get a great example of an MIM and you can also get a not so good example. My guess is the same goes for the Squiers so try several and see which ones you like better. A lot of people rave about the Squier Classic Vibe series as playing great and having excellent build quality. You might want to look at those also.

Cheers.

Just the same as above.

If you can find the Classic Vibe Tele or the Vintage Modifieds by Squier, I'd also give it a try next to the MIM models. Play with your eyes closed, check weight, neck comfort, frets, bends, don't let the lower price tag of the Squiers scare you away

The only issue i've had is finding any of the high end squires in the music shops to do a side by side comparision. And only a few mim standards. They have a gazillion strats but only a couple of Tele's :?

Hello Saljam,

My thoughts are to go for the MIM,
I believe the mexico plant has a better
quality assurance program than asian made
and I also feel that the hardware is a higher quality.

I'm not knocking the Squires but all thing considered
I would opt for a Mexico guitar.

Best of luck on your choice.

Cheers.

Thank you Mr. Bill... That is what I was thinking as well. I am very happy with my MIM Strat. I hope the same will be said for the MIM Tele..

Couldn't agree more and besides with the new09 MIM the quality seems to be improving. Not saying anything before that was garbage (I own two 07-08 Teles) but all I'm saying is that it seems like the MIMs get more raves then ever before.
