I'm actually a Fender bass player coming to ask a question about my Tele. I bought my Tele a few years back in the interest of learning a little guitar so I can add more to my recordings. My Squire (Affinity) however has the worst intonation.. I've tried so many times to fix this but it's useless. I figure the contributing problem is the neck. So my question is, can I replace this neck with any telecaster neck? I was even thinking about putting a Strat neck on it. I was hoping to keep the cost of the neck around $200, probably a MIM strat/tele neck. Any suggestions? Thanks a lot! -Andy

How come you didn't notice the intonation of the guitar was bad at first? I'd take it back to the store and ask them to set it up. Or if you bought online, just send it back and make them send you another one. People do that all time.

BUt let's go to the neck issue...
I'd try just changing the nut first. Take it to a good tech and ask for a full set-up. See what he has to say, in case you didn't do it before.

I wouldn't go on the aftermarket neck option, since a new neck must cost the same price as the whole guitar.

At first I didn't really care about it cause it was just for fun.. but now as things are becoming more serious I've been wanting something more "professional" so to say.

I understand! Anyway, try taking it to a tech first! A new neck would be my last choice.

Or maybe I'd save a bit more and get a Classic Vibe
