In keeping with the 40th anniversary of Woodstock, how about this for a Tele trivia question ................. were any Teles played at Woodstock ? There were a lot of SGs, ES-335, LPs and Jimi's iconic white Strat, but I don't know if there were any Tele players. It’s been years since I saw the movie and I don't recall seeing any Teles on film (and I wasn't there in person).

Let’s see if we can come up with any Tele players who made the trip (literally and figuratively) to Yasgurs Farm

Good trivia question!

Let's see...was Jimmy Messina there (don't think so).

Can't recall what some like Country Joe or Sly used?

Maybe someone from the above had a Tele?

There were relatively few Fender guitars (not counting basses) visible in the original release Woodstock movie. I think one of the guys in Sha Na Na played a Tele. I remember seeing one or two more Fenders in the director's cut version of the film that came out a dozen or so years ago. I'm not sure about the current DVD release - haven't seen it yet.

I always thought it was interesting that the logo for the 1969 Woodstock concert was a Gibson-style guitar headstock and the logo for Woodstock '94 was a Fender-style headstock. Definitely a sign of the times.

Nice topic...

I can´t remember anyone with a Tele in Woodstock.

I remember the guys from canned heat with a Les Paul Goldtop and a black strat with a CBS headstock.

Probably Robbie Robertson (The Band). In the only video/image of them in the festival that I can remember, Robbie is playing an acoustic, but he was 100% Tele in that period.

I would bet there was a tele or two on stage, but I don't remember any.

I do think I remember Johnny Winter playing a Fender 12 string (the electric solid body) strung with 6 strings.
