I recently came into ownership of a telecaster thinline from my father. He says its a 1972 but it dosn't have a pearl pickguard, the serial number is 660715, any help determining its year and value would be appericated.

Is it a black pick guard? cause I think the originals had the option for a black pick guard (instead of just pearl white like the reissues):

I typed the serial number from your post into the search field at the Web site

http://www.guitardaterproject.org/fender.aspx

and came up with this info.

Your guitar was made at the
Fullerton Plant (Fender - CBS Era), USA
in the Year(s): 1975
