Hi

I would like to try one of the Telecoustic Deluxe guitars. Not one of the squire, plastic back ones but the deluxe model.

I have emailed Fender to ask where I can try one - told them I live in Yorkshire and they replied that they haven't supplied one to Yorkshire! So.......... Has anyone seen one, anywhere in the North of England?

I can buy them off Ebay and also some other online dealers but would really like to try before I buy.

Any ideas?

Mick

Stay away from them they sound bad. Fender never hit the mark with acoustic guitars thats just a fact. I have had 2 Fender acoustics and they both stunk. They were gifted to me so I did not pick them out it is just that the people who gave them to me know I am a Fender fanatic but not when it comes to acoustic guitars.

Thanks for the advice straycat.

I was beginning to think that I must have dreamed about these guitars and no one else had seen them ;-)

I owned a Telecoustic and I thought it was a pretty good guitar considering. I sold it because I went totally Martin for my acoustic needs. The teleacoustic and stratacoustic are great guitars if you are on a budget and need something that sounds like a tele/strat or need an acoustic. BTW-I think they all have the plastic back. You can find one on ebay for less that $200 american. Well worth the price to give one a ride. If you don'tlike it, just put it back on ebay and you should get your money back.

Thanks for that

Just to clarify the guitar I am interested in is the deluxe Telecoustic

http://www.fender.co.uk/products//searc ... 0967500309

"The Telecoustic Deluxe is an acoustic version of our classic Telecaster® guitar, with a real Fender electric guitar neck and a standard Telecaster neck pickup. The Fishman® Classic IV T MB preamp lets you blend the below-saddle pickup with the Tele® pickup for fantastic acoustic/electric tones; other features include classic Fender tuning keys, a spruce top, maple back and sides and a deluxe gig bag"

No offense, but that has got to be the ugliest guitar I've ever seen! I can only hope that it plays and sounds much better than it looks.

I've never seen or played in the flesh a telecoustic, but I am a "strat-fanatic" and wanted something to take around (beat up a little maybe). I like fenders and hate buying anything else, so I saw the stratacoustics. I played the new "standard" ones (Fender, not squire) and was repulsed. Fiberglass back -- sounds good plugged in, but like absolute GARBAGE unplugged (like a high-pitched fart, sort of). I was dismayed, but liked the idea of a strat neck on an acoustic, so I checked out the deluxe version online -- never saw one in the flesh. It was clearly not the same guitar (same factory, though), so I bought it online and was planning to send it back if I hated it. IT IS AWESOME. Yeah laminated, but who cares? Spruce top, maple back and sides -- sounds great/normal unplugged, awesome plugged in, and the electric pickup is a trip. Great standard neck, comfortable, love the pickguards. I need bigger frets because I am a blues-rocker and want to change the pickup to a mini-strat because I can't leave crap alone -- but I love it. The gig bag is really cool - like a cross between a acoustic and electric bag - definitely made special for it. Go buy a Martin if you want true acoustic tones, but this is much more fun -- I can play Hendrix to James Taylor without batting an eye, and with a stereo cable, distortion and acoustic at the same time!

OK - I take back what I said. I can see where you're coming from with this guitar. I just don't understand why the graphics/preamp is sticking out so high from the edge on the guitar. Shouldn't it be flus mounted?
