Hmmmm could partly be because you are using 9's. But thats definetely not the ONLY reason. If you cant find a structural problem then i think its just that u are bending way too hard

If the strings are always breaking in the same place and on the same string and if this fellow has other Fender guitars (MIA) and does not experience the same issue with those guitars then I see no reason why the problem should be with the player. It is plausible to me that once the guitar was at the shop the old MIM neck was removed and it was replaced with another MIM neck. The Fender guys themselves said QA/QC was inferior for MIM products when compared to MIA products. There could have been dozens or even hundreds of sub par necks that got past QA/QC. Who is to say the replacement neck was scrutinized any more thoroughly than the original was? I think the wrong avenue of recourse was chosen. The original neck should have been refretted with better quality wire by a professional luthier. Upon reading this thread I closely examined all of my guitars and not a single one of them has the chatter marks on the fret wire including a Korean Strat and a Korean Epiphone LP. Those pics clearly show inferior wire was used and I would have been just as hopping mad if it were me. IMO FMIC had better do right by this fellow or suffer the consequences of a bad rep for product support and possibly lost sales.

Just think of how awesome a guitar player you could have been by now if you had only spent the last 10 years practicing instead of obsessing over pickups and roasted maple necks.

:?

I was sufring the web trying to find if this was normal... Imagine my surprise. I bought it over a year ago, late 08.. Do you still think it´s something I should be worry about? I think I don´t have my receipt anymore.

Strings play fine though, It makes the guitar look cheaper than what I paid for. Too bad for my third MIM Tele.

i'm just amazed how many of you people in here are fender employees,

watching and filtering all the posts, no surprise there !

all i'm doing is putting other unsuspecting fender customers on notice

so they don't have to go thru hassle and perhaps fender can take note

and remedy something that needs fixing,

so sorry the truth bothers you all

Check the "Stratocaster" Forum for locked topics on the first page concerning Strats made In Mexico and you'll see what happens when you expose substandard construction methods. Here's the links:

Be careful some members here are bullies emboldened by an event in the USA that will ONLY happen once in their life time (and will only last four (4) years). Others whos' uniform you'll recognize (black sweatshirt w/ the de riguer black bandana types), will quickly label you with the dreaded "R" word. The moderator "Brad" might even threaten you with BANISHMENT rather then address the problems you like others have discovered.

Either way welcome and don't drink their "Kool-Aid" stick to tea !

BTW. Join the Squier '51 Modders site www.instituteofnoise.com There are many knowledgeable members who would be willing to assist you in determining the cause of your problem. You needn't own a '51 as there are catagories for other Fender/Squiers as well. The best part is since most are familiar with modding and maintenance of their own guitars they'll be willing to share their expertise.

Like I told you "Brad", until Fender addresses what new owners have discovered this SAME "thread" will continually reappear on a DAILY basis.

What IS the "corporations" position ?

"Standish" how much money over and above the initial purchase price has this cost you in strings, gas, time and shipping ?

What exactly is the "R" word, JerseyJettFan? Rude? Rash? Ranting? Ridiculous? Your recent diatribes have certainly been all of these. :?

You do understand that this site is meant for people who like Fender guitars, right?

In any case...

It's a shame that JerseyJettFan refuses to calm down as he truly appears to actually have a fair amount of extremely solid knowledge to offer us here. That said, no matter what one's gear knowledge, one quickly reaches a point wherein one's negativity and refusal to back down rapidly outweighs one's contribution to the group ... and based on the e-mails I'm receiving from folks viewing this thread I'd say we're at that point. JerseyJettFan, I'm yanking you for now -- if you ever reach the point where you're ready to come back and take a less volatile approach with both myself and this group you're certainly welcome to contact me and I'll consider restoring your access.

dude you are a stickler for the smallest details just like I am. I notice every little thing down to the smallest issue, but I also would take it back if you have any concerns.

Good call Brad

If he wanted to know the "corporations" position he should have contacted Fender Direct.

Wooooow!

This is my last "Fender" MIM... Period!
I have two friends who own G&L Asat tributes and they paid about the same I did and they had never complain about quality or never had to make polemical threads like these on other forums... Ha!

No offense to guys who had nice experiences with "Fender" MIM Products, I had other 2 teles and 2 strats in the past that I enjoyed playing so much. But this time, Fender is making me feel like I´m not spending my money well and right, specially on this Standard Tele wish was waaaay more expensive than my previous ones. I think that´s all about for me, cause I don´t think I would be that disappointed if this baby was a cheaper Squier Classic Vibe.

Cheers.
