First of all, I usually don't like artificial relics. I saw this faded to yellow RW Tele w/maple and gave it a ride through a new Blues Jr.

It was just a phenomenal instrument tone wise. Maybe a little fret leveling and it would be perfect. I was surprised to find the finish was already checked quite a bit, which I didn't think Fender was doing, but maybe it's from the shipping. It looked good anyway.

I'd guess it was just over seven pounds and quite comfortable except for the neck. The "wear" on the back of the neck didn't feel like "real" wear.
It felt like somebody went at it with 60 grit sandpaper or something.

Still, for a MIM guitar, it was better than most that I've played. If the back of the neck had felt better, I might have been bringin' it home. :?

Cool, thanks for taking the time to post the review! :)

I seriously do not get the whole relic thing, but I may take the time to try out one sometime.

I'm sure they're still great guitars for what people make them out to be. It's just the whole artificial relic thing that's so controversial.

They generated a lot of "buzz" after their debut at Winter NAMM. I wonder what will debut at next month's Summer NAMM show. :?:
