So i do love my telecaster, but im curious if there was a good set of pickups that would give it a lil bit more of a smooth strat sound, without having to use a strat pickup because i don't want to have to get a new pickguard or cut out more space for it.

i'm a fan of lollars especially their strat pickups, but i was wondering if anyone has used their tele ones and gotten that smoother strat sound out of them.

Any other pickup ideas?

Seymore Duncan make special strat for tele pups that are supposed to be top notch, but you have to keep in mind that with a tele, you'll still be missing that middle pup unless you cut the pickguard. My tele is already routed underneath from the factory to allow this mod, but I have a strat so I wouldn't really bother myself.

Have a look here:

There are a few other companies making similar products, just google it and I'm sure you'll see a few.

Hope I helped.

I have the Lollars on my partscaster Nashville Tele. They are so good that I sold my best guitar, my Clapton Strat.

Fender's Nashville Telecaster has a Stratocaster pickup in the middle position, along with a 5-way switch since it has 3 pickups.

I've never thought of a strat as being "smoother" than a tele but to each his own. If you really want the strat sound, you should think about getting one. By the time you finish experimenting with pickups you might end up spending a ton of money and still be unhappy. No one's recommendation is likely to give you what you want because we all have different ears and tastes. In the long run it's easier to just go into a store and buy the guitar that sounds "right" to you without any need for mods, pickup swaps, etc.
