I saw a new Tele for sale at a local music store and it was labeled as a "Light Ash Tele", if I remember correctly. It has 2 pups -- the bridge pup was a Seymour Duncan and the neck pup looked like a standard Tele pickup. Any idea what model this is? I don't see anything listed in the Fender Products page that matches this but I might've missed it. It might be an older model, though its still a new guitar...

You already answered your own question, it' a "Special Edition" series Light Ash Telecaster and those guitars are killer. If they've been discontinued it was just this year that it happened. I've played one in a shop and the Alnico 2 SD pickups are quite warm yet the ash body and bridge keeps the classic twang there. I'm not a huge fan of the aesthestics of birds-eye maple but it still looks nice, especially with abalone inlays on it and the neck shape is quite comfy.

Don't take my word for it, plug it in, play and see/hear it for yourself.

I played one at a Guitar Center while waiting for my car to be serviced at the local Honda Dealer. It felt great, sounded great and looked great. I had to have it and put it on layaway and one month later she was mine. I loved the tone, but still changed the pups to SCN's with an S-1 Switch to eliminate the single coil hum, plus it gave me more tone optioins which I love even more the seymour duncans. It's my favorite guitar, hands down. I love my martin acoustic electric, Gibson ES 339, but that tele somehow always seems right.

They're discontinued, but if you can find one, try it...you might like it.
