On a lark, I bid on a 50's re-isssue MIM Esquire on Ebay and won. It arrived about an hour ago and wow, I love this guitar. The Tobacco burst finish is great , it came with an ashtray cover, which normally I don't like, but it looks great. The range of sounds coming from one pickup and a 3-way switch sound pretty good if do say so myself. I may upgrade the pickup, but I'll wait and see how I like the sound of this one. I Wasn't sure if I was going to like it, but I tell you, this is one hell of a guitar and for one Made in Mexico, I am more than happy.

I just did the same as you. My wife told me to get whatever I wanted as long as it wasn't too expensive. Found one on Ebay here in Canada. I got a hell of a deal, $330 with gig bag, and I am so excited to get it home in plugged into my Twin Reverb. Do you have a tele as well? How does it compare tone wise to it? I think this guitar will compliment my old 52 ri quite well

Here's a pic from the auction

Looks just like mine. I will say that my teles have more sound options, that said, this guitar sounds great and can't wait to play and hear it at a show.

Well if everything goes well I should have mine on Friday, we got a call to fill in for a band this weekend and I am totally pumped about it. I may get some playing time on it before we go to the gig just to feel out the tones. I can't wait!
