Is your guitar the thinline with the two knurled metal knobs? If so, the knobs should have a small set screw on the side. Just loosen this screw and the knob will come right off.

If you have a guitar with plastic knobs that have no set screw, you will need to lay a thick cloth over the body of the guitar and use a screwdriver to pry the knobs off (the cloth is so that you dont scratch the body). Be gentle, and take your time if this is the case!!
