man...there are so many to chose from, which is probably why you are asking.

Do you have access to a Guitar Center or something similar. If so, I'd suggest playing a few. Maybe get a feeling for what you do and dont want (neck shape, humbuckers, etc). Also, the price swing is pretty significant, so it would be good to know how much you are willing to part with.

I'm pretty happy with my 72 thinline, though the 72 custom is pretty sweet, too.

People really seem to dig the Baja and just the strait up Standard.

I like Baja Classic Player, if you can find one. It's a high end MIM Fender Tele. But I think the Ensenada plant is concentrating on Roadworns (ick).

i love my 2007 MIM standard with ghs boomers. its a very, very nice guitar. the thinline tele is pretty sweet too.
