Ok, I'm new here... but I have a few things to say about the Tele: I traded a friend of mine a Marshall combo amp for a 69 reissue Telecaster Thinline Mohogany body... wow... and then it began: I have several guitars, Strats yada yada. But when I started playing the Tele, it was amazing; I've read several books on Mr. Fender, and I was intrigued by the Broadcaster/Nocastet/Telecaster. Do you think it's because the electric guitar was such a new concept? It seems to mimmick the attributs of an acoustic guitar. I love the beautiful sound of the acoustic guitar ... the good ones... they anunciate... articulate... avery beautiful nuance and tone is so well spoken. In my opinion, the Telecaster is the electric version of the top of the line $2000 plus acoustic. It is perfiect. In my opinion, when Mr. Fender created the Broadcaster, it was the last word. It has not been improved. Of course Gretch had to get cranky... Broadcaster drumset... whatever...necessary change to Telecaster!!! I love the sound of the Stratocaster, and yes it is a little more comfortable to rap yourself around... but it has nothing on the Telecaster. OK, I'm done... for now. Any thoughts? Next time I may go on about the difference between Mexican and American... this was fun... I love Fenders!!!!

Shazang...
Another one finds a Tele. I started thinning my small herd this year. I don't even play my other guitars anymore. It's like a sickness. I agree with you on Mr Fender. He got it right the first time.

Caught me totally by surprise. Yea, I still pull the Strat out, but I can play all that stuff on the Tele.... My next guitar will probably be another Tele... 8)

A lot of times the first will always be the best. You can do anything on a Tele you can on any other electric guitar. It's still the best!

I still pull out the ol' Strat for the tremelo, mostly. But for the tone its Telecaster all the way!

I currently own 2 Strats (my first love) and one Tele. Next I'm picking up another Tele in HH to round things out.

The Telecaster is a primitive and loyal little brute that always sounds good and will never let you down.

To me a Fender Telecaster is the epitome of electric guitars. It set the standard and hasn't been topped, only matched IMO by the Jaguar/Jazzmaster. I particularly love Teles with maple necks, humbucker/P-90 neck pickups, or even a P-90 in a bridge. I don't mind HH teles, but I prefer a single coil, be it a Tele or P-90 type.

Teles and Strats are the most versatile for modding, and they're simple platforms to work on.
