Hi, Does Fender sell a Telecaster nitro finish, with modern bridge and truss rod? And no "road worn" scratches and dings? How about one with a humbucker and nitro?

Thanks

The Highway 1 series are allegedly finished with nitro, although some of the more experienced and knowledgeable people on the board have suggested that it's not a "vintage spec" finish, but a more modern -- and cheaper -- alternative.

If you're looking for a specific guitar, your best bet is to order one from the Custom Shop or buy one similar to what you want and then refinish it yourself (a long, involved, and potentially disastrous task).

The vintage hotrod is nitro too, and to make matters better a very thin finish. Although it lacks the modern bridge. Gladedale and wilkinson both make great compensated saddles. I'm a sod for intonation and find my wilkinson saddles about as near as your going to get the 3 saddle bridge to intonate.

Plus its a killer guitar with a bucker at the neck.

My 52 Hot Rod Tele RI is feather light with tone to die for. That mini hum in the neck creates sounds that only a Tele and humbuker can produce; wonderful in the middle position as well with classic twang in the bridge. Fortunately, I got mine days before the huge price increase. :D As far as intonation, it is spot on perfect with the original vintage bridge and D'Addario 9's. One thing though as others have noted, the neck tends to get a little tacky with sweaty hands which I have. I'm not sure why this is so as I have other guitars with nitro finishes that don't get tacky. :?:
