Hi! I just bought a fully loaded '98 Am Std body, and a new 2009 Am neck on the Bay. Neck was from Reliable Fender, body from private original owner. Total shipped was $699.98 for both items. Just wondering if I did good pricewise. Anyone have any thoughts?

If you're a DIY type of person, you should be okay.

Some people would rather pay the extra couple hundred and get it all assembled.

Good luck!

Hi MM,
Yes I am a DIY guy and I have read your posts on pups with interest. It sounds to me like we have the same ears :D I haven't got the pieces in my hands yet, but looks like I'll make out OK with only twisting 4 screws and putting on strings. I can't afford to pay the big bucks up front for brand new, however I can pay a chunkk up front, and then a little at a time to get a guit to where I want it. This looks like a good candidate for that. Really doesn't look like it needs much at all, and the minor scapes saves me from crying over it when I do it myself! :D I'm usually a Strat guy, but this LOOKS prime for my 1st Tele.

Think I did OK on the prices?

I think it was ok considering you will have a highway one neck and an american standard body.... you will end up loving that neck for the big frets I love my highway one strat neck :)

I can put in some good word for RF! he and the folks at the Stratosphere are one of the most reliable and fastest groups I have ever bought from and dealt with! hope everything goes well.
