Hey everyone,

so I was browsing through some tele's at online dealers (because hey, they're gorgeous aren't they?), and I came to find out that Am Deluxe Tele's in aged cherry burst are a good 500$ CHEAPER than the other deluxe's. This infuriates me as now I feel like my aged cherry deluxe tele, which I just paid full price for, is inferior to the others.

What the heck is going on here?! Can anyone explain?

Wow, now that is ironic. I originally was intent on buying an aged cherry Am. Dlx Tele, but alas I could not find any in stock (cause I absolutely MUST play it before I buy it!!). Anyway, fell in love with a 3tone sunburst maple Am. Std. Tele. And now the standard costs more than the deluxe!

I guess that cherry finish got popular for a time then the demand dropped off.

That does seem a bit odd, I see what your talking about at Musicians Friend
Im just guessing here, but maybe its still 08 stock??? If Fender was going to discontinue "Cherry Burst" then that will make ours all the more valuable!

That's the only logical solution I can come to - that the Aged Cherry Burst is being discontinued. If this is the case I may have to buy another one, for value's sake.

Infact I might even go so far as to say that I'm positive they're being discontinued. It's the exact same guitar as the other deluxe's. There's no way Fender would permanently keep one specific finish $500 cheaper than the others.

They could start giving them away, I'd still cherish mine. This is a fine, fine guitar, nothing will ever make me say different.

I know I had to pay extra for a ash cherryburst MIA Deluxe (strat). It was around a hundred dollars or more than a painted finish. I think (my opinion) the cherryburst is the best looking! 8) Has to be because it's old stock. I guess. :?

I've just checked my local place's website, the Tele Deluxe aged cherry burst has increased by £ 100.00 since I got mine :?: it's now £1099.00 no case included

Yeah, you're right. I called my local guitar shops and they're still all regular price. This is just a Guitar Center/Musiciansfriend thing as they're both the same company. Sorry Canadians
