Can you give us a detailed description, or better yet, post photos?

Upload pictures to photobucket.com or another free photo hosting website, copy the URL of the photo and post it in between .

For example:

(don't use the * characters - I just did that so you could see what I typed)

Do that and I'm sure we can identify it for you.

That my friend is an american special telecaster in olympic white. Mexican made, pieced together in the american plant using custom texas special pickups. Greasebucket tone circuit and all. Its such a good guitar I bought 1 myself :)

The neck is an American standard, but the roller string tree has been replaced with the 50's style washer and screw. The body is transparent blonde ash (also called white/blonde), the same color that comes on the classic series 50's telecaster. The tuners, bridge, and saddles are American standard.

This is either a 2004 American standard in transparent blonde ash with the string tree replaced, or a partscaster. But at least a quality partscaster should that be the case.

I believe if you email the serial number to Fender support, they can tell you what color the particular guitar of that serial number should be, as well as the model etc.

That will give you an accurate answer to what you have.

I recognised the wood grain and color because I own a '99 classic series 50's telecaster in transparent blonde ash.
It's actually more of a cream color that lets the wood grain show through.

That's ok. The American special Telecaster wasn't introduced until 2010, Kinda rules that out seeing the neck is dated 2004.

It could also be an American Standard Ash Telecaster. The model was discontinued in 2006. If it is, the pickgaurd has been changed for a modern one and the extra screws were added.
Here's a link with it. http://guitars-unlimited.blogspot.com/2 ... eries.html

I think you are correct there RRR - I believe it is that American Series Ash Telecaster - that was kind of a "split the difference" between an AV '52 and a "plain" American Series Tele - they had that round string tree, a U-shaped neck (instead of the regular American Series modern c-shaped neck) and vintage-style pickups but had the modern radius, frets, 22-fret fingerboard, and other hardware.

The OP should send the serial number to Fender Consumer Relations (consumerrelations@fender.com) - they should be able to tell him if it is in fact an American Series Ash Tele.
