Post subject: strat for slide?

Considering a new strat ( squire CV 60 ) for slide guitar.
Would i be better getting a tele for slide?

I think either one will sound good. It would be my thinking that, if you are looking emulate pedal steel sounds, I would try and find a Tele with a b-bender. The Parsons/White Bender is amazing, but relatively hard to find. Installation requires substantial routing, but it would definitely be worth it if that's the sound you're looking for.

If you want a more rock-style slide sound, either guitar will be a good friend if you have a decent amp and it is cranked up.

Try the Fender Resonator with the Tele neck pickup! :wink:

For some mysterious reason I could never play slide on a strat and get a decent sound , but a telecaster is quite nice.Neck position give's a great slide sound.
