I have a strat hardtail bridge on a tele and even with the saddles raised as high as they can go the action is still too low to eliminate buzzing. Could this be a problem with the bridge combined with a tele or can I shim the bridge to raise it up with something?

Well, I think perhaps your problem is obvious. The strat bridge was never designed for a telecaster. If you're looking for a half style bridge plate. check out Glendale bridges. They have a variety of bridges including standard tele bridges as well as other variations. I think that's your best bet. Here is there half bridge. Check out the GE Smith signature telecaster. It comes with a half bridge. I'm not big on, but it is different.

Ok thanks for the quick reply, maybe first I'll try to make a shim of some sort to raise the bridge a bit and if all else fails I'll look into an actual tele bridge and see if that corrects the problem. Thanks again

Sounds to me like the neck could be shimmed at the front of the pocket (or micro-tilt adjustment if equipped). If it's not, you could shim the neck at the back of the neck pocket. I personally wouldn't shim a bridge as it would affect the sustain and resonance of the guitar.
