Hey everyone, so here's the deal:

I currently own an '04 Am Deluxe Tele which I love to death. I'm running it through a Marshall mg30dfx which I bought years and years ago, however somehow I feel the sound is a bit lacking. I know what a Tele is capable of producing, and although the sound is nice.. I know it can be improved.

Now, I've read numerous times that Fender on Fender tone is absolutely gorgeous. What kind of amp should I be looking for to give my Tele it's soulmate? I play a lot of classic rock and every once in a while blues.

I'm on somewhat of a budget, but I also now understand that really when it comes to an amp, you get what you pay for. I'm probably looking to spend at a maximum $1000.

Lately I've been pondering on a NOS Blues Jr. How will this do me? Any suggestions along with their Pros/Cons would be GREATLY appreciated. This is an important investment, after all :o

Thanks for looking!

That Tele will sound mighty fine through a Pro or Super Reverb!

Pre-owned is okay if it sounds like a good deal.

It will sound just fine through a Blues Junior. I have one and I just mic it up for gigs. If you want more power, take a look at the the other amps in the Hot Rod series. They are all tube amps with modern features like both volume and master knobs, and effects loops. And they are in your price range.

The smallest of the vintage reissue amps is just out of your stated price range. And you don't get the modern features either.

Hi, I have the Hod Rod Deluxe, My Tele sounds great through it. Currently have been test driving the Reverb series... I think this is what I'll move in to.

I run my Tele through a wah, a dirt box or two, and into a Pro Junior. I like the sound of EL84 amps and I particularly love the combination of good tone and portability offered by the PJ. It's a solid amplifier, and well worth the investment; it's also more than enough to play any gig so long as you have a mic. Just the other week my band (without drums, mind you) played a house party and the other guitar player was running a Marshall MG30 (I think) at near top volume. My PJ, on the other hand, was sitting pretty at a little less than half. And that's with a bass player and a loud PA system. Great amp!

With or without my pedalboard, both my Tele's sound great through my Blues Jnr. I also have a spider jam amp, it's a lot of fun

My two cents says pick up a vintage Fender amp with reverb. I have two: 68 Princeton Reverb and a blackfaced 79 Deluxe Reverb. The Princeton is voice strongly in the midrange and the Deluxe is sparkling clean. My Tele Thinline sounds fantastic through both.

Vintage amps are a great investment also. They go up in price every year so they represent a good bang for your buck. You should be able to find a sweet amp for under a grand.

Keep us posted on your decision!

Original Fender Blues Deville 2X12. Great cleans with attitude. As affordable as they are, I would recommend a power soak/attenuator as well to take full advantage of the amp.

My AVRI '52 Tele sounds great on my Vox AC15 TBXR.
A fender '65 Deluxe Reverb would also be a good choice.

Before shelling out $1000 on any amp, try a Vox AC-30, a Marshall combo, and a Rivera combo. But you can't go wrong with a Fender tube amp of any type. I love my Princeton. Avoid the FM series.

Honestly, I love my Tele through a PodXt into an Atomic Reactor 118 amp on 7.

God, selecting an amp is such a personal thing. All amps will create tone, which suits you best is all up to the style of music you play and what your ears hear. I tend to gravitate towards Tube amps, but that is me. Those were the amps I grew up listening to. I say just go to as many stores as you can and play as many different amps and see which one sounds best to you.

If I had to reccomend the perfect amp for a telecaster, I would have to say the Frontman 65R is a great and cheap buy. I just recently bought it and is paired with a les paul copy (but it sounds rediculously good with a telecaster standard). I also like the Blues NOS amp. It's a great tube amp with a warm tube sound. Both are extremely simple to use. The FM 212R is okay, but it has a darker sound than the Frontman series and I heard it overheats.
