After the recent interest stirred up by the introduction of the seymour duncan P-rails pickup it occurred to me that fender could look into doing an updated esquire style guitar with a humbucker-tele bridge but have a P-rails pickup and have the three way switch wired to offer humbucker, single-coil and P90 tones with each taking a switch position. It would work on the same principle as the original esquire by offering three tones from one pickup but woul kind of bring it up to the present day.

Any thoughts???

Regards,

It's a cool concept, but I'd rather make my own out of a Squier or something.

Yeah, I can understand your point, could just be a cool kind of product for fender to try out, as a reference to their limited edition Seymour Duncan Esquire they released a while ago that is now discontinued.

At least I think that's what they did, I have seen a "fender Seymour Duncan Esquire" second hand in a guitar magazine, I might be mistaken.

+1
Just don't see a good reason why they would even consider this because I see alot of people taking the same stance as you and I and just make our own. I've already seen quite a few that people have done and they sound amazing. Thinking about doing this down the road.
