Stock?

As far as I'm concerned even the stock Mexican pickups are more than enough for me. Your Highway 1 probably doesn't need a swap, especially if it is brand new. That said, I've heard people rave about Seymour Duncan Hot Rails in the bridge position.

I'm a purist when it comes to high end MIM,MIJ, MIK,or any MIA guitar. I say stay with the pickups Fender installed (STOCK)! Finely tweaked stock pups do exactly what they are supposed to do. Of course this is just my opinion and not many agree. :)

Cko you dont say why you want to change your pick ups.My reason was the hum would drive me nuts and i wanted a lil power,The cure,Dimarzio fast track1 in the neck and a fast track2 in the bridge which has three times the output of an average single coil you will love the change.I play on the rock/blues side of the fence so if your into country these might not be for you other wise your going to be happy .By the way save your stock pickups so if you ever sell your ax you can just swap em back .Good luck

If you really must replace the stock pickups I recommend checking out Bill Lawrence www.billlawrence.com

I just bought a HW1 a month ago and I love the stock pickups. I find them quite hot, twangy with lots of punch. Changing them is a waist of money.

What is that you don't like about them?

Check out Jason Lollar pickups. He will also personally answer any questions you may have. He explains that choosing the right pickups have more to do with the type of amp you have.

Before swapping them out, I'd suggest trying adjusting the height of the current ones. I have a Hwy 1 and keep the pups just barely above the guard with a slight tilt up on the high strings.

Good luck!

I am not sure what tone your looking for and that makes a difference in what pups to choose. I put together a Nashville Tele and originally put in Lace Sensor Teles and a Holy Grain strat in the middle. I wasn't happy with the sound, possibly because the pickups were not installed correctly, I eneded up putting in a set of Custom Jason Lollars and they are great sounding. I ended up selling my Clapton Strat because this Tele sounds as good if not better at times. My other Tele a lite ash model I installed a set of SCN Noiseless pups with an S-1 Switch. I can still get the growl of a Tele without the hum of the single coils. Play a 52 reissue and see if you want the vintage pups, the Hway 1's are hotter, try an American Deluxe for an SCN Tone. Springsteen has installed Joe Barden's in most of his current teles.

I have Jason Lollars, try them or a set of Joe Bardens. Bill Lawrence also does a good job.

After extensive research I chose Kinman Broadcasters. Great Tele tone without the hum. Some complain about the cost but the tone I ended up with was well worth it.

Congrats! Good luck with the new pups. As long as you're happy, that is what counts. Price is just what we have to deal with to get the things we want, the way we want them.
