Gear is very subjective, but I'll give you my two cents. Go to as many guitar shops as you can and play every Tele they have in your price range -- assuming, of course, that you're dead set on a Tele. If you're not sure, look at the traditional models: Strats, Les Pauls, 335s etc. But if you desperately want a Telecaster, play everything they've got until you find one that feels right for you.

That being said, I don't know much about the Aerodyne Teles, but I know that a P90 will not give you the classic "Telecaster sound." If you like the sound, get it; if not, keep looking. I've found that guitars, as a rule, find the owner, not the other way around. Patience and a keen eye will continue to reward you in your hunt!

I find that there are some very interesting questions asked on this forum and others that are similiar in nature. The question I find the most facinating is what guitar should I buy or do you think this is a good guitar for me? I just bought my first Gibson a month ago. It tookme almost 5 years to pull the trigger on a Gibson. I played a lot of them, but when I played an ES 339, I knew it was a guitar that would fit nicely in my small family of guitars. I never asked anyone, I just bought one. Now if I find in two months that this might not be the guitar I thought it would be, I will just sell it. Now, I have always been a Fender guy, I especially like Telecasters. I have owned Strats but have sold them all. I have kept the guitars I play, which are all teles a Martin Acoustic and now the gibson ES 339. Like someone has said, a guitar finds it's owner. I have had a number of must have teles, strats, rics, gretsches and ibanez's. In the end the only must have guitars are the ones I feel best playing and create the tones that I am trying to create. No one on this forum or any forum can make those kind of decisions for you. If you like the way a guitar looks, feels and sounds, than that is the guitar for you. If after a period of time you feel it isn't what you thought it would be, sell it and start to find the next axe. That is a simple a process, there are no wrong decisions because it's a process that we all go through.

This is very true. When I've gone out to purchase a guitar, I have had certain models in mind. When I go to purchase I go home with something completely different.
