Anyone owning a 72 RI or Original:

Have you ever utilised the neck tilt system or had any trouble with your neck as I've heard these were very undesirable in the 70's and notorious for coming loose etc?

For the record I've never used the tilt or had any trouble with the three bolts although there is a little crack in the finish on the body where it joins to the neck and I've always been terrified that this goes to the wood.

Cheers

CC

Yah, cracks are not good because they reflect some undesired pressure ... I have heard complaints about 3 bolt necks but if I had one I would do what yngwie did ... I would get a 4 bolt neck plate and install it to my 3 bolt guitar so I am sure it never lets me down :)

I've got an original 74 Strat that was my main guitar thoughout the 80's. It never gave me any problems. The micro tilt was a good idea but guitarists can be very closed minded to "new" things sometimes. My 3 bolt neck hasn't come loose yet either.
