If you are referring to my '52 Thin Skin that I posted a picture of... the picture is a little misleading re the color. My '52 Thin Skin is butterscotch blond but appears much lighter in the photo. In fact, all the '52 Thin Skins that are butterscotch blond are lighter in color than the regular USA '52 Reissues as there is no amber/orange aging toner applied to the '52 Thin Skins as opposed to the darker more orange/amber stain of the regular '52s . The lighter less amber/orange tint of the Thin Skin '52 is apparently a much more accurate representation of what a brand new Tele looked like in 1952. The purpose of the tinting in the regular '52 is to give it a more "aged look". If you are looking for an actual "honey blond" 50's Thin Skin...look for a Thin Skin '55 (they are honey blond). Several dealers on the net have Thin Skins (Wild West Guitars and Dave's Guitar come to mind). Check out their sites.[/quote]

Here is a picture of an ESP 400 that I bought around 1987 for $150: I had a bunch of work done to this guitar over the past few years (including adding a Hipshot tailpiece around 1988).
Image
Some kid stole this from me (along with my son's MIM Strat) in October of 2007 -- because of the Hipshot, Guitar Center was able to finger the guy and we had him arrested. Last week, I got the restitution and bought this American Deluxe as a replacement...

I really miss the ESP but I'm having loads of fun with the Tele!

best,
Norman

Those Japanese ESP's from the 80's were real good guitars. Enjoy your new American Deluxe.

I'm Jonsin' to own a Real Fender Tele (my squire is cool, but not the same). Since I don't, here's a pic of my Tele Lunch Box.

You have!!!

It is an unofficial Don rich Telecaster, as I don't think one has been issued yet. Fender should though. Plus I think he also played one with a sparkle headstock. Mine is really a Fender Custom Shop '64RI NOS.

The Marty is an official Fender Custom Shop Marty Stuart Telecaster and word has it that only 35 were completed. At least the builder of the necks states that he only remembers making 35 necks. Marty Stuart desigined the neck inlay, which is gorgeous. Mine does not have the original pick guard or leather strap but they are so hard to come by, I had to jump on this one.

Do those pics of the Tele's next to fireplaces make anyone else nervous?
