This is not paint, but stain. It was applied thinly over the course of a couple weeks. There is no poly or base coat. Over the stain is a thin coat of lacquer which was sanded and polished.

The lines are wood grain (easily visible and felt due to the stain).

There is also a belly contour but not easily seen in the pic.

Pickups are Rio Grande - Muy Grande for bridge and neck.

5 way Superstrat switch wired:

NECK (plain ol' neck pup)
BRIDGE and NECK in SERIES (very Gibson-ish)
BRIDGE and NECK in PARALLEL (plain ol' Tele #2)
BRIDGE and NECK in SERIES/OUT OF PHASE
and BRIDGE (plain ol' Tele bridge)

Wilkinson compensated brass bridge.

The only thing original Fender is the neck, neck plate, control plate, and knobs/pots.

Here is my 2006 Joe Strummer Tribute Tele with some of the included stencils and decals applied. I may be removing these shortly and putting my own style of decals on. I have upgraded the bridge PUP to a Lindy Fralin Blues Special. The guitar now has some great tone, and is very comfortable to play. Kind of like an old pair of jeans.

McHale. Nice work. I often wish my Tele had a bit of contour to it, at least on the corner you're showing.

That 04 CIJ'62RI OLB is sweet. Those colors go great together. And I like the darker finish on the maple...gives it an older warmer look.
