I want my highway telecaster to look like a esquire telecaster, but still have the 2 pickups. Do they make a really small neck pickup that I can put under a esquire pickguard? Would this even work or sound good. Thank you, everybody here is really nice and helpfull.

Because a pickup is, more or less, a magnet, it has to be relatively close to the strings. That's why they are so eminently adjustable and, in almost every guitar I've seen, sit above the pickguard. That said, I do know that hidden pickups have been made; I also know that to be effective they have to have a serious, serious magnet in them. Being an inch or so away from the strings, as compared to 1/4 to 1/2, is a big change. That all being said, I'm sure you could find one but it would most likely require you to take a router to your guitar body to get it to fit.

If I were you I'd stick with the Tele pickup or just remove it and slap your esquire pickgaurd over the hole. Anything else would be prohibitively expensive!

And also if you put the pickup under the pickguard the difference in output from one pickup to the other would be totally different and it wouldnt be good anyway... :)

What you are looking to make is what is often referred to as a "Stealth Esquire". Here are some threads as there seems to be varying opinions and experiences on whether or not its possible. Some say yes, some say no, but it can be done....

Check out Harmonic Design. They make Tele neck pickups with white, black, tortoise, and pearl covers to "to match your pickguard for that super clean 'Esquire' look."

Wow, that sounds like an advertisement. It's not. I don't work for them, or know them, and I've never bought from them - just passing along info:
