Post subject: Bridge Pickup on MIM Telecaster

Heeyy, I jsut recently baught a MIM Tele and i've noticed that the bridge pickup is slanted and the pickup is not facing straight up at the strings but at an angle is this normal?
(Sorry if I dont have any pics currently, I'll try to get some asap)

I don't quite understand what you mean the way I understand is do you mean slanted on an angle like this pickup is?

If so then this is normal otherwise I don't know what you mean.

I think he means that the angle between the polepieces and the guitar top is not 90 degrees -- in short, that the pickup does not point exactly up at the strings. As to whether this is a problem, I'm not sure. I suppose than any angle reasonably close to 90 would be just fine, but you're certainly undermining the pickup strength and increasing the distance from string to polepiece if you go much beyond, say, 85 or 95.
