I want a blond road worn tele that ain't road worn. I'll bet that's impossible. Oh well, back to the drawing board.

The first electric guitar I ever had was a 62 blond with a rosewood neck and I'm trying to find a tele that approximates that instrument. I'd be OK with the maple as that is my preference. A 60s road worn tele that has not been distressed is as close as I can get as I see it.

It seems that that color and finish is hard to find in a tele... lots of honey blond.

Any suggestions?

All the road worn Teles I have seen are worn in the exact same places...Its about as cool as Levis selling jeans that are all ripped in the exact same spot. By yourself, you might look okay, but if you run into someone with the exact same guitar with the exact same scuffs/marks, it might be one of those awkward,"Oh crap, we look like twins."-moments.... Much like if you and a friend of yours happen to both wear the same shirt without planning on wearing matching shirts, only to discover the matching shirts when you meet them somewhere.

I think you want to look for a Honey Blond or Antique Blond Finish, but definitely not Butterscotch Blonde...I don't know if one is currently being offered by Fender though, but you can always get a custom built one...

UPDATE: I was just looking through my 2009 Fender Frontline, and you may want to look at the Highway One series Telecasters as they have a Honey Blond with Rosewood neck Teles...

then Highway One Texas Tele is the exact same guitar only without the Road-Worn treatment. I'm looking into one for myself, actually.

The HWY 1 Texas Tele!! This guitar smokes. I bought one new in 04 and it is hands down the best sounding most comfortable Tele I own. The neck is incredible. And with the type of paint they put on these things it will look "road worn" in about a month. seriously, paint flakes off just by looking at it.

And, actually it's not the same guitar as a road worn. 12" radius neck and different pickups make it very unique in the fender line.

I was told by Fender that they no longer have the Frontline catalog. How did you get one?

Close but I'm looking for a white blond not honey blond. Thanks for your help though.

i think the road worn thing is pretty cool but... i think it would be alot better to wear down your own guitar over time (make it your own and have a history) instead of buying one already beaten on. plus you dont really want a guitar that has been worn down exactly like 100's or 1000's of others.

The stopped Frontline for a few years, then last year you could buy it, and its back again for free this year at your local or nearest Fender dealer, or I have even seen them on eBay...

HWY1 are MIA and the Road worn series are MIM. I have the HWY1 honey blonde..Love it. I played a blonde maple road worn tele in the store. It had a very nice worn smooth feel to it. I didn't get a chance to plug it though.
