I bought a 60th anniversary tele a while back and it is natural in color NOT sunburst. Plus no JEWEL in the head stock. The problem is I can't seem to find ANY info about this one on line. Is it American made?? I only find info about the sunburst models.
Thanks,
Dave. :?

Welcome to the forum! I can't answer your question but if you can post some pictures I'm sure some of the tele forum experts can. Good luck. :)

Hello Voodude,

There are a few variations of the 60th Anniversary.
The Commemorative 60th had the fake diamond in
the headstock and all were sunburst. Sam Ash also
had some blonde strats commissioned for the 60th
{with gem}but I haven't run accross any telecasters.

As for how to post a photo--- well here goes

Establish an account with Photo bucket
download your photos there, go to your pic
and beneath it 4 addresses will appear
click on the bottom one{IMG} the word copied
will appear.
Then in your post here at the forum
hit ctrl and v simultaniously and magicly the address
will appear, Preview if you like.

Hope this helps. All will enjoy you pics.

PS: welcome to the Forum
Cheers.

When looking to identify a Fender Guitar the first and formost way to determine where it's made is the guitar's serial number which is located on the headstock.

Here's the Fender link to locate serial numbers:

http://www.fender.com/support/product_dating.php

Secondly, do not merely rely on visuals, i.e. diamond on headstock, stickers. or the case it came in these are not concrete evidence. Even the neck plate can be switched to make it appear to be a specific model.

I can positively tell you the "60th. Anniversay Fender Telecaster" was issued in 2006 as evidenced by the following articles:

1. http://www.musiciansfriend.com/product/ ... sku=512872

2. http://www.zzounds.com/item--FEN116100

http://reviews.harmony-central.com/revi ... aster/10/1

Good Luck!

You guitar looks like the Special Limited Edition 60th Anniversary model, which also happens to be a special version of the Amercian Vintage 1952 Reissue.

If that guitar is completely original, it's serial number will only be it's number in the run of 1000, and that will be located on the neck plate on the back of the guitar.

My version of this guitar is 15 of 1000.

These are very nice guitars and are indeed the "official" 60th Anniversary Teles.

Thanks AJ, mine says 301 of 1000. So at least I know it's the real thing. I wish fender had a little more info on these as they are a special. Like I said in my first post. The only ones I ever see are sun burst. I like the fact that these are so different. :D

Hi All. My first post here in the Tele forum. I'm thinking about buying a 60th anniversary tele like the one pictured here. My local store has a used one on consignment, but I'm not sure what a fair price might be for one of these. They are asking 1350. It seems to be in excellent condition. The number is in the 200s. Could anyone give any advice? Many thanks.

2 questions voodood: how much did you buy it for, and what colour is the outside of the case?
