Bill Hullett, studio ace, can be heard on literally thousands of recordings and is a monster player!

Bruce Springsteen and David Gilmour, just to name a couple. Of course Gilmour is more known for his using a Strat, hence the recent signature offering, but he's made some very good use of Teles.

Based on what I'm hearing, the tele is the secret weapon of nearly all recording artist. I hear the tele layered into many, many songs where the player plays something completely different live (their signature guitar), and their sound suffers for it!

One of the biggest tele fans, if you ask me, is Alex Lifeson. Listen closely to all of his recordings. He uses it often to layer in what's missing in his gibson sound. Often, I can't get his tone unless I go with the tele. And, when you hear him live on songs where he layered the tele and he's playing something else, you can hear the void of the tele missing! When Geddy Lee teases Alex about telling us what his "secret weapon is" in the recording studio, the tele is it!

Glad to see Joe Strummer mentioned, he's my favourite guitarist to wield a Tele, more so for his lyrics though.

Surprised no one has mentioned El Hefe from NOFX!

Erza Kire of Leftover Crack/Choking Victim.

Kurt Cobain also had a sunburst tele he painted blue, though he's more known for Mustangs, a Jaguar, Strats, Mosrites and univoxes.

Luther Perkins, guitarist for Johnny Cash (and I believe every other guitarist that played for Cash) used a Esquire or Tele.

Derryck Whibley of Sum 41.

I've seen videos on youtube of Zappa's 2nd guitarist playing a Tele.

East Bay Ray of Dead Kennedys.

this Canadian guy named Stephen Hanson, oh wait, this is FAMOUS rock guitarists.
